lyrics

With tradition always comes the risk that time will separate what is done and what is known, yet this is better than alternatives. The converted are not so easily stirred, disdaining the voice of decent, even inner voices of their own, "Taste, see, feel, question." Taste, see, feel, question not, they cling to control becoming rootless souls. Plead forgiveness for the cause, feign concern for those it harms. Smile in condescension, posture intelligence as they ask their faithless questions. Let the guiltless throw the first stone. Save your stones, save stones for yourselves. If faith without work is dead, then so are you. Your hands are too clean to have lived. Your straightened teeth, your whitened smiles, offering polemics of a pragmatist. Tell me what good are you? Have you ever dug a grave or held an open wound. If you could just close your mouth your presence might just soothe. There's no loss in losing your voice preaching to the choir.
